Mikey at Bat
The story of how he succeeded as a hamptoneer and his real-life story

My dog, my companion. He is my angel and my wolf. He is the best dog anyone could want. I have had him for only three years but he is the most special animal I have met. He is the friendliest dog in the world. Everything about him is wonderful. Even though he digs in the trash and does other stupid things like that, he is perfect. As I write this, he is asleep on the pink chair. Sometimes he sits there and watches me and other times he falls asleep. As a Hamptoneer, Mikey meets the standards. He is my most used character and the one everyone falls in love with. I even turned in a writing assignment with him in his Hamptoneer form. In my stories and most drawings of Mikey, he is a baseball player. He would like to play for the Mariners in real-life but he’s a dog. Mikey likes to goof off in class along with friends, Kit and Kat. Renny is Mikey’s best friend in real-life. Lauren invited him to come to their house and play with Renny a few times. They always have a blast. Mikey has other friends too. When my parents and I go on trips, Mikey stays with Nate and Benny, two other terriers. In one drawing on my website, Mikey is standing waiting for the pitch. The catcher is a Bulldog. That drawing is called Mikey at Bat. I think Mikey looks really focused. While Mikey gets older I think of more and more stupid names for him, such as; Nicey, The plopper, flopperpus, puppers, and dumbest of all, The heavy snorter. I only know how I came up with “heavy snorter.” Well, we were in Cannon Beach with Mike and I was picking him up. He was heavy and he snorted so I called him a heavy snorter. Mikey is spoiled. My dad got him a velvet bed. Now Mikey sleeps like a log. One of Mikey's favorite activites is pouncing on my covers when I get into bed. Everyone smiles or coments about Mikey on our nightly walks. When I kneel and call him in a high-pitched voice he bolts with his tail wagging wildly into my grasp. He's a funny dog. He likes to roll around on the floor. The weird thing is my mom can't seem to teach him to roll over. He is so stubborn. Mikey is living happily and thriving on Kibble.
